Explain.A: The Longview Platform is a fully enabled, single database, OLAP application supporting multi-dimensional query and analysis capabilities as well as data drill down. The application provides a flexible Operational Data Store (ODS) that provides access to the multidimensional data and application logic in a BI friendly format and helps integrate with any 3rd party reporting or BI tools and technologies. Longview 7 has been optimized for use with MicroStrategy 9 and provides a seamless user interface between the applications for a tightly integrated CPM/BI solution.
The ODS generation can be fully automated. Batch triggers and event triggers can be used in conjunction with the ODS to provide timely input to the BI tools i.e. help an end user to seamlessly work with both MicroStrategy (or other BI tools) and Longview.
